The ASC is a not-for-profit, incorporated organisation with Deductible Gift Recipient status and endorsement for Charity Tax Concessions. All donations over $2 are fully tax deductible and will be allocated towards maintaining the script collection.

Founded in Hobart in 1979, the ASC is the only national resource dedicated to Australian plays. The ASC provides a service not offered anywhere else; we collect, distribute and promote Australian playwriting to people across the world. Each year many school teachers, students and theatre professionals access the collection of over 900 contemporary plays, in addition to the 700 plays currently archived.

Without the ASC, there is no doubt that an important part of Australian theatre heritage would be lost for eternity. We prevent excellent work from simply disappearing…. imagine if Shakespeare’s play scripts had not been collected and promoted? How would it be possible to still be performing them today?

Donations can also be made online. The online donations service is totally secure and ensures that 100% of the donation goes straight to the ASC. Only normal bank fees are charged and deducted from the donation.
