Samantha Bews

Samantha Bews has been an active and innovative member of the artistic community since her graduation from the Victorian College of the Arts in 1989. In 2000, her one act play So Wet was produced by Playbox Theatre Co. and published by Currency Press. Her work as a theatre maker/director includes: My Heart Belongs To Daddy but I like Your Dick (1994); Marching Girls present a Guide To the Morally Righteous (1994-5); The Zing of the Warbler Woo (various primary schools 1998). She was a founding member of the Hildegard Theatre Co., collaborating in the production of three major works Al-Andalus, The Wedding (nominated for Green Room Award for Best Music Theatre 1993) and Woman in the Wall (nominated Green Room Award for Best Music Theatre 1992.) Under the banner of her production company Fanny Box Productions she has created a series of corporate and private events and performs at nightclubs, galleries and other openings. She has worked as a freelance actor for the Melbourne Theatre Co., Playbox Theatre Co.,
