Noelle Janaczewska
Noelle Janaczewska is a Sydney-based writer whose 30-plus plays, radio scripts, libretti, open texts, essays, stand-up poetry and on-line explorations, across drama and non-fiction, have been performed, broadcast and published throughout Australia and overseas. She is the recipient of a Centenary Medal and four AWGIE Awards for radio writing.
Her stage play Songket, produced by the Griffin Theatre Company/Sydney Opera House, won the 2002 Griffin Playwriting Award and the 2001 Playbox-Asialink Playwriting Competition.
Noelle’s most recent works include: Unrequited (Adelaide Festival Centre/OzAsia), This Territory(ATYP/Powerhouse Youth Theatre/Sydney Opera House), Redheads(Queensize Productions/Tamarama Rock Surfers), X-Words (WIPC, Indonesia), and Mrs Petrov’s Shoe (Theatre @ Risk), winner of the 2006 Queensland Premier’s Literary Award for Drama Script (Stage).
Noelle is a member of the 7-ON playwrights’ group whose inaugural project The Seven Needs was part of the Griffin Theatre Company’s 2007 season.
