Noelle Janaczewska
Noelle Janaczewska is a Sydney-based writer whose 30-plus plays, radio scripts, libretti, open texts, essays, stand-up poetry and on-line explorations, across drama and non-fiction, have been performed, broadcast and published throughout Australia and overseas. She is the recipient of a Centenary Medal and four AWGIE Awards for radio writing. Her stage play 'Songket', produced by the Griffin Theatre Company/Sydney Opera House, won the 2002 Griffin Playwriting Award and the 2001 Playbox-Asialink Playwriting Competition.
Noelle’s most recent works include: 'Unrequited' (Adelaide Festival Centre/OzAsia), ‘This Territory’ (ATYP/Powerhouse Youth Theatre/Sydney Opera House), ‘Redheads’ (Queensize Productions/Tamarama Rock Surfers), ‘X-Words’ (WIPC, Indonesia), and ‘Mrs Petrov’s Shoe’ (Theatre @ Risk), winner of the 2006 Queensland Premier’s Literary Award for Drama Script (Stage). Noelle is a member of the 7-ON playwrights’ group whose inaugural project ‘The Seven Needs’ was part of the Griffin Theatre Company’s 2007 season.
