THE SPEECHWRITER

Budding writer Steve Hart gets his dream job writing speeches for the right wing prime minister, much to the horror of his mum Josie who is a left wing activist. Steve is torn between his mum’s dogma and the manipulation of the prime minister and his beer-guzzling immigration minister. With best friends Luke and Jenny, Steve is a typical 20-something, politically apathetic and struggling to find an identity. It is not until tragedy strikes that Steve’s character is fortified and Josie learns that love must include acceptance.
