HANGING ON TO THE BOTTOM OF THE WORLD

Hanging on to the Bottom of the World tells the rather staid story of Australian Federation in a way that is as theatrical, physical, visual and funny as possible while not shying away from the darker side of the story – the White Australia policy, the generally appalling treatment of the Indigenous population, and so on. It is written in a fast-paced, ensemble-style and allows for a cast of varying size and gender depending on the amount of doubling up of roles required or desired. The play could be done with an all-female or all-male cast.
