SWEET STACCATO RISING
In Sweet Staccato Rising we meet Gunner and Slit-Fish, two teenagers struggling to survive on the poverty line. In their world there’s nothing to do and nothing matters. Gunner’s father is dead and Gunner went to high school with his mother’s new boyfriend, whilst Slit-Fish’s family just doesn’t care.
Sweet Staccato Rising is a stark representation of the emptiness of life for these kids. Low wages, unemployment, the erosion of public education and health care together with rampant materialism have created a generation who feel they live in a world not made for them.
