BELOW

Two British migrant brothers in search of easy money find themselves in an outback mining town. With the arrival of a boxing tent comes the opportunity for the rapid increase of the brothers meagre savings through a prize fight and a side bet. BELOW examines how past events and secrets can impact on the present, and considers how kinship and love impact on a reality that is both harsh, brutal and strangely poetic.

'A tough, hard-hitting play... powerfully claustrophobic ... Inviting comparisons with Pinter and Beckett, (this) outback noir piece displays strong existentialist and nihilist overtones, brimming with tension and menace that occasionally spills over into physical violence.'
