K
'K' follows the story of a man who has been detained at a routine security check in an unspecified public space. The performance traces his increasingly violent detention interview under the gaze of a globalised media system. As The Man's resistance erodes, the relationship between the detention culture and the media becomes tighter. Gradually, The Man is absorbed into this televised prison-of-the-mind as a celebrity advertising the merits of Democracy as the New Commodity.
"a compelling, fiercely satirical exploration, an horrific Fellini-esque carnival of logical conundrums and double-talk, the political gut-kick of the Melbourne Festival" -? Real Time Arts Magazine #52
