FOR LOVE ALONE


A dramatisation of the novel by Christina Stead. It is mid-1930s. Teresa Hawkins is a talented girl who chaffs at the constraints of the Sydney society in which she lives. She is dazzled by Jonathan Crowe, a man she meets at the university. He allows her to believe she might have a future with him. When he leaves for Europe she follows. In Europe Crowe is out of his depth and Teresa is hurt by his rejection. She meets James Quick, falls in love with him and discovers that love is not what she had expected. (Variable cast - up to 14 roles)
